The Indiana News Photographers Association had their yearly contest this past weekend in Indianapolis. I took home five first place awards including a Best of Show award. .
I'm still don't believe how well I did and now i have the added pressure of keeping up with myself.
Intro paragraph for the feature story - Finding Jake
Jake Pena described himself as the black sheep of the family. His father was a local police chief and Jake found ways to get in trouble when he was younger. After several years as a surgical nurse, Jake traded holding a man’s heart in his hands to holding a older man in his spirit. Dr. Elvan C. Olmstead. Through the Visiting Angels, a living assistance service, Jake and Doc were brought together. Through Doc, Jake found a grandfatherly figure and a revival of Jake’s faith. In return, Jake brought a smile to Doc’s faith and helped his transition to Apostolic Resthaven. He wanted to interact with the people he was taking care of but with Doc he got something more then he expected.
