| Image © 2009, Stanley Hu || An Albuquerque police officer is silhouetted in the sunset as gas balloons in the background drift before the start of the cross-country race in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sunday, October 4, 2009. Due to high wind speeds, the race was eventually canceled, and the balloons, which cost about $6000 each to inflate, had to be deflated. The fiesta--the largest hot-air balloon gathering in the world--features over 700 balloons from October 3 to 11. |

Thar be hot air balloons in New Mexico!
I am a little sleep deprived after waking up at 3:30 am for the last three days, but I finally learned how to spell Albuquerque after spending about a week in New Mexico. Also got a permit from the National Park Service to enter White Sands National Monument early and did some lightpainting in the cold morning. Check it out.
