| Image © 2008, Kevin Benedict/Midland Daily News || A bird prepares to alight on the inside of a sleeve belonging to a statue of Jesus outside Messiah Lutheran Church on Friday evening, to the tune of numerous high-pitched chirps coming from inside the statue. According to an information sheet provided by the church, the stainless steel for the statue was extracted from a three story fire escape. The 850 pound statue took about 5,500 hours to create, and is twice the size of a man in scale. |
